Departure:

I started video editing in 2016 when a friend of mine who is a singer, wanted to get on this YouTube thing where all the independent singers were starting to gather recognition. Soon after, I started another YouTube channel where we invited artists to perform poetries, it blew up immediately. In just a year or two, I found myself editing advertisements, corporate films, and some trailers. An amazing time.

Initiation:

During the above mentioned initial time, I gradually realised that the conscious life on earth is all about story-telling. The heritage, history, and humanity owe it all to the skilled storytellers. And that chain of thought lead me to believe that telling stories is the most important thing in the world.

So when I got a chance to work on feature-length, such as Bahu Naa Vichaar and Once Again, I had to test myself in the new waters and also dive deeper in the art of story-telling. The experience was amazing and I learnt a great deal about the art form. For a while after that, I was exploring the art form in small scale avenues, and it was definitely worth while.

In the beginning of 2020, I stumbled upon an opportunity to work as a founding employee of a regional OTT platform, Oho Gujarati. The things that had me excited the most was the team there. Everyone had so much to offer, so much energy, persistence and grit of working towards the same goal, and fortunate enough to be there at the beginning of it.

Editing is a creative art form, but it is also equally technical. And I got a chance to go in depth of it, which turned out to be an invaluable opportunity. Every edit I was a part of, I delved deeper into the nuances of storytelling, worked closely with the characters and respective plots, and improved the technology at the platform while telling moving stories from our culture.

We had to close Oho Gujarati because we made a few mistakes, and also because good story tellers are inherently not good businessmen. Still, the experience was unimaginably great!

Return:

My Return is yet to be Written.
